The Style Guide however, had always made it clear that this should change once keyboards with End on them became common. Thankfully it finally happened with the Iyonix. Using an unmodified RISC OS 3/4 system alongside Linux or Windows is extremely frustrating.
I’ve got an idea that someone might have written a small module that allowed individual applications to be fixed. |

Apart from pressing End expecting it to take you to the end of the line, only to find that it’s just deleted stuff that you would have preferred to have kept… :-) |

Steve yes your preference is consistent with the legend ‘end’ etc and the ‘Windows’ way of working. This highlights the poor ergonomics of that layout. Having delete left and delete right next to each other is so useful for editing. My other pet gripe is not having a tab key on/near the numeric pad. If I ever get the time I think I’ll workout how to remap ‘scroll lock’ as ‘Tab’ |

Economic reasons being high on the list, just after people being familiar with the PC layout. The reasons for using a common layout exceed the reasons for a special. |

I don’t believe Draw supports the concept of a clipboard – there is no cut and paste. In Draw’s “Select” menu, “Delete” has a shortcut of “^X”, I was merely commenting that as an added bonus, the DEL key seems to perform the same function. |

I don’t normally use Draw, but I’ve just tried !Draw 2.27 and it does support the clipboard: ^X cuts to the clipboard and ^V pastes back again. |

For clarity, Draw 2.27 is the RO 4 (RISCOS Ltd) version & supports the clipboard. The current version for RO 5 (ROOL) is 1.22 & doesn’t support the clipboard. The ROOL version supports on the ‘Select’ menu option; Copy CTRL C, Delete CTRL X The RISCOS Ltd version supports on the ‘Edit’ menu; Cut to clipboard CTRL X, Copy to clipboard CTRL C, Paste clipboard, Duplicate CTRL D, Delete |
