Milkytracker Locking Up System RPi3 B+

I originally posted this at Reddit, but it was suggested I post it here.

Hey all, I’m wondering if anyone here can help me. I’m new to Risc OS and just installed it on one of my Raspberry Pis. I’m interested in running Milkytracker on it, and it installs just fine from Packman, but when I try to run it, the whole system locks up and I have to restart. The Pi I’m using is a model 3B+.

Milkytracker contains the SWP machine code instruction that is not supported by the RPi3, PatchSWP replaces the SWPs with code that is supported.

Tested on my RPI3B+.

Very VERY late to the party here but I’ve downloaded Milkytracker version 0.90.86-1 from http://www.riscos.info/packages/AudioDetails.html

Dragged !MilkyTracker.milkytracker to PatchSWP’s window and it doesn’t detect any SWP instructions so no new file to be saved, so can’t get running on my Pi3B+.

What happened with PatchSWP when you did it David and what version of MilkyTracker ?

That download of MilkyTracker ran on my RPi400 as is. I guess it is a later build after the issue was fixed in gcc.

Ok, it goes on the Pi400 but you mentioned above you tested it on the RPi3B+. The milkytracker absolute file is dated 18-Nov-2013 so it sounds like yours is indeed a later build – any idea where to get it?

Here from the link above the milkytracker absolute is dated 17 Feb 2021.
