Number of Archimedes sold

Hello all! Does anyone have any information on the total number of Archimedes machines sold by Acorn?

All the numbers that I have

I have a figure of around 600,000 in mind but I can’t remember why. I have some old Acorn Annual Reports at home so I’ll dig those out and have a look.
I had a Pearson plc annual report form the early 1990s which quoted a market of 250,000 for their Eureka Spreadsheet.
I also vaguely recall a Bruce Smith column in A&B Compputing from the early 90s where he compared actual sales to the numbers that Acorn expected.

It’s complicated….
Acorn said on more than one occasion to dealers that they didn’t know how many Arthur/RISC OS systems they’d made/sold.
They had multiple companies building them.
They also bundled some of them up e.g. ‘Learning Curve’ The learning curve had a serial number and the A3000 box inside the learning curve had its own ‘standard’ serial number etc.
They also sometimes unbundled some of them.
Serial numbers didn’t start from 0.
Some manufacturers used the same serial number e.g. something like 27-ACB45-0123456 & 32-ACB45-0123456 with 27 and 32 denoting the manufacturer.

Some initial findings, that seem to fit with the other numbers here:

1987 Turnover £36.10m 200 staff – Launch of the Archimedes
1988 Turnover £39.20m 220 staff – Archimedes starts to outsell the master, 200,000th Master sold
1989 Turnover £44.90m 235 staff – Launch of the A3000
1990 Turnover £45.50m 240 staff – Takeover of Barson Computers (Australia and N.Z.) 100,000th ARM based computer sold
1991 Turnover £40.90m 220 staff – A5000 launched
