Adding another printer

So uhm I’m really not good with printers. A while ago I managed to configure my mini.m to print over the network via PCL. This was the first time everything actually worked and yeah, it’s great. The only problem being that I now don’t dare touch the printer configuration! So can I add another printer without losing my current printer? Like can I switch between them when neccessary? thanks! |

Yes. My !Printers has three printers: PDF (PS2 to file), SPrinter (sprite to file), and M2022W (LJ6 to RemotePrinterFS). Simply clicking one will highlight it and set it as the current. See here: http://www.riscos.com/support/users/userguide6/guide/chap14.htm Note that when it says “PDF”, it means Printer Definition File. Those three letters mean something else these days. ;-) Note – don’t forget to get !Printers to save its settings (iconbar menu). If you don’t, any printers you add will be forgotten the next time you start it. |

But select the printer that you want to use by default before saving, so that Printers remembers which one you want to use. PS. I assume that you’re aware of PrintPDF, but if not, it provides a “print to PDF” printer in Printers. |

Gosh that’s quite impressive Steve. Presumably it reports itself as a PS printer? |

Any reason why you don’t use PS3 to file? Works well here via PrintPDF. |

Yes – I don’t have the PS3 driver. |

Depends what you’re doing graphics-wise with your postscript files, but if quality is important PS3 offers considerable advantages compared to PS2; see: |

Sorry for the late reply, ROOL keeps locking NetSurf out. Typing on my phone is a bit naff but really wanted to thank you all (and Rick in particular)! |
