Iyonix rom update problems

When attempting to upgrade my Iyonix’s OS, I lose the ifthere command and a load of others that I can’t remember right now, and hence can’t boot. I did start copying the utility/binary file versions of the commands in to !Boot.utils, but ran in to trouble. I’m presuming I’m losing a ROM based module or two? Which module does Ifthere belong? Or should I have these newer commands as files? Many thanks in advance, Matt |

I thought Net should be dormant/unplugged but reinitialized it anyway, and it caused havoc to the softload.. |

So is that list of unplugged modules taken from when you were running the new OS version or the old? Which version of RISC OS are you currently running, and which are you trying to update to? What’s probably happened is that the order/location of the ROM modules has changed between versions. Unfortunately this can make testing with softloads difficult, because the shared CMOS settings will mean that different modules will be unplugged in the different OS versions. If you flash the ROM then you should be able to fix the issues permanently once it’s flashed – that’s as long as you’re happy with flashing it without giving the softload version a proper test! |

Regarding testing I dont know the names of the modules I need; can anyone tell me which module the ifthere command is in? Or whether all these ‘new’ commands are within ROM modules, softload modules, or whether some are as utility files? I did try to provide all the commands as util files, but a lot I could only find in 26bit format. Thanks, |

Sorted – seems one or two softmodules were out of date – after a merge of latest boot, and rmreiniting internet and mbufmanager (somehow they got unplugged???) all is well – about to flash 5.18 now that softload is working. Thanks for the help. Matt |
