Mouse wheel scrollin in TextArea toolbox component

Hello,

Is TextArea toolbox component can be scrolled by mouse wheel?

This is not window and not receive “scroll request” events.
I tried to output all wimp/toolbox events which my app received and try to scroll TextArea by wheel but app does not get any event.

It there a possibility to scroll it by mouse wheel?

I’m running a recent development rom and when I create a window with a TextArea in !ResED and drop the res file in !ResTest it shows that that Textarea does scroll with the mouse wheel – no events are generated it does it automatically.

Yeah, it looks like this is something that will only work with recent ROMs (containing the WindowScroll module). The old way that RISC OS 5 handled the mouse wheel doesn’t work with TextAreas (it only sent scroll events to windows which supported the “scroll request” Wimp message, which TextArea doesn’t appear to use)

The Textarea scroll works automatically if the textare_state “textarea_auto_scroll” is set (oslib). Example: https://jeanmichelb.riscos.fr/Programmes.html#Le_programme_Pari
On the other hand, I can’t get the clipboard to work. Fortunately the drag and drop works very well.I use Toolbox 1.71 and Window 1.81 with Textgadget 0.49.
If you have an idea?

I have updated my ARMX6 (=> 5.27 May 12, 2020, from RCOMP), but these modules are not present.
They are necessary to run the Rick Griffin: Treeview 0.23 and Tab 0.12 toolbox modules that I use in my programs.
About Textarea with ToolBox modules: TextGadget 0.44, ToolBox 0.38, Window 1.80, in my program, an interface for! PariGP (math) the texts are well displayed but the edition (drag and drop, selection…) does not work. With the same program and the Toolbox modules above using OsLib, everything works except copy / paste (clipboard) although mentioned in OSLib.
I agree with you for a harmonization of Toolbox modules, it is very important because they facilitate development.

It’s not helped currently by the ROOL supplied StrongHelp manual appearing to actually document the ROL modules, as far as I can tell!
