IRC client for modern machines

Is there an IRC client app that runs properly on modern machines?

I suppose I could dust off the source to Torque and try to build it on a machine from this millennium.

I tried LIRC, but it only seems to allow nicks up to 9 characters, and mine’s 10. My immediate use for it is with the NetSurf developers, who use it for communications. I see there at least 2 other devs there with 10-character nicks.
