Old ChangeFSI fix for dark/black pixels down right hand side

I have a customer who has requested that I include “ChangeFSI updated with the old fix to prevent dark/black pixels down the right hand side”. It isn’t a fix I’m familiar with, and google searches aren’t proving productive. Apparently you have to change a number at the end of a line from 0.5 to 0.1 or something (customer was rather vague). Firstly, if such a fix were definitive, I’d expect it to be present in modern CFSI versions as standard, but since I’ve not heard of this specific fix, I can’t say for sure. Does it ring any bells with anyone? |

At RISC OS 3.7, if you use ChangeFSI 1.12 to resize a picture, certain scaling factors are highly likely to produce an image where the rightmost column of pixels are darker than expected. For example, try rescaling a 768×512 pixel image using a scaling factor of 5:7. The problem does not occur with ChangeFSI 1.61 (RISC OS 5.24). EDIT: Fixed in ChangeFSI 1.59 (November 2016). |

Thanks Stuart. I’ve seen that effect in the past when working with CFSI, but glad to hear that it no longer occurs. I seem to recall something about improvements in that area, but no clear recall. I’m sure the customer will be pleased to hear that no further fix is required :) |
