Is there any way of permanently setting up the ‘Host’ identity in the ‘New VNC Connection’ dialogue box? It’s tiresome having to re-enter the name of the laptop server every time I start a new session; its identity doesn’t alter between sessions.

Add the host to your hotlist via the “Manage hotlist…” menu entry.
