ChatCube update failure (v1.11 -> latest)

Using the “Update” button in the app to update v1.11 to the latest.
Noting that the lack of PMT is pointed out in the numerous system freezes as ChatCube does its thing.

The app then bombed out with “Directory not empty”. The error log looked to be status messages from an earlier run (since overwritten by newer log).

A few suggestions:

• Don’t fatally fail something that isn’t necessarily important.
• It was prtobably going to fail anyway, as the DejaVu font is open…by FontManager!
• Delete resources BEFORE wiping the application itself, that way there may be some measure of recoverability.
• I upgraded by finding the update file and reinstalling it myself. Why is it in Choices and not Scrap?

Not that I use it a lot, to be honest. I’ve not found a way to save/export message content, and plus this is the first time I’ve used my Pi (RISC OS machine) in several days. I mostly use my phone…

Where to put what is Style Guide stuff, so maybe the programmers hadn’t read the Style Guide and assumed that “Scrap” was a recycle file area rather than a theoretically-temporary file area?

Choices, if you take a multi-user system, would be the personalisation element that is the user profile in Windows. The profile folder in windows being a general dumping ground for all sorts of installation tat. I think MS actually recommended it.
