Getting !Messenger to run on Panda

I have all my software running (very nicely) on my Pandaboard except !Messenger which throws an internal error – abort on transfer. I have tried clean install of 7.02 but no luck. Any suggestions to bebug this? |

Is this happening every time? I had !Messenger Pro (7.02) die on me the night before last but this sort of thing is fairly normal for RISC OS on PandaBoard – it may be fast as f**k but it is not quite stable… |

I get it each time. Other apps like !Netsurf work perfectly. |

That’s strange I’ve had no issues at all on my Pandaboard. Its rock solid with the exception of the cd drive which barfs under load, requiring a reboot to get it working. Contact rcomp would be my suggestion. |

There’s no known problem, but I wonder if some external application is breaking? We don’t recommend installing eSpeak on Panda (or BB, or pi) as that’s a 3rd party extension which was never satisfactorily updated for ARMv7. Otherwise it should all be fine – it’s one of our demo applications for PandaBoard! Now, I should stress that I can only test on our own PandaLand environment, so if there’s something external (or OS related) getting in the way, it is difficult for me to make comment. However, I wouldn’t have thought this would be the case (I’d say 10% or less), but it is a necessary disclaimer. I’d prefer to take this to email though, please, as that will allow a more detailed back’n’forth of testing/ideas. It’ll also allow me to send you 7.03! |

Andrew, Thanks for the advice. I will delete and retry without eSpeak. I’ll email you as if 7.03 is out I would really like to test. |

I can confirm, it was my Riscos and !MPro now works very nicely (other than an annoying bug in IMAP version in general where a window with a post always opens at startup). As a Riscos platform, the Panda is extremely quick! |
