Ik wil !Publisher verplaatsen. Wel moet het dan, net als nu, te vinden zijn voor de daaraan gerelateerde teksbestanden. |

When you have moved it, add it to the list in “Look at”, in Configure, Boot. |

Bedankt. Het was al weer jaren geleden en totaal vergeten. |

We could do with a translation button on here. Interestingly google translate managed it pretty well even though I’d left it set for Norwegian, it did make a bit more sense when auto-detecting Dutch. |

With the mobile phone I tried selecting the post .and then clicking on Translate – didn’t work :-( But clicking on the whole page – just Translated the post and left the other in English. |

Or learn Dutch. It’s quite convenient to be able to speak Dutch (erm… when you’re Dutch). |

In my experience most Dutch-speaking people speak better English than a lot of native English speakers! The motivation to use a Dutch phrase book in Holland falls rapidly to zero; making the effort involved _not_ worthwhile! |

Is there a good way of translating the German Mag DVD? |

At a Big Ben show many years ago, someone abandoned their child at the ARM Club stand (they were probably staying at the Mercure and thought it was creche). She spent several hours having sword fights, crawling under the table to tie our shoe laces together, and at one point tried to teach us how to count to ten in Dutch. She found our attempts so amusing, she beckoned the all the Dutch show goes over to laugh at us. So I’d be reluctant to try to make those fleumy sounds again! |

Well, one could argue that it’s a better reponse than somebody staring at you, and then just walking away. Had that a few times. It’s like “nope, not even going to bother attempting to understand you”. On the other hand, I’ve had a few Frenchies tell me my accent is “cute”. Which is quite bizarre as I thought us Brits and our weird vowels massacred their language.
I find French vowels (and pronunciation in general) to be mostly incomprehensible. Why is “Lundi” said like “lan-deh”? It’s a ‘u’, not an ‘a’. But, then in words like “pluie” and “huit”, it’s a sort of “oo” sound. As for saying ‘u’… Well… My goodness. I believe you’re supposed to sort-of-smile like saying “ee” and when try saying “ou” instead. My attempts (with an ‘u’ in my name) have been twenty years of failures. I usually just hand over my passport and point at the name there. It’s simpler than attempting to say that bloody ‘u’. |
