Omniclient from an Obey file

I’m trying to get my system backups to go to a NAS, which I want to power down when not in use. I’ve got WOL working (Thanks Dave Higton). Now I want to automate the equivalent of double-clicking Omni from Apps, then use *omnimount NAS to get the drive mounted. Using a Run command to run Apps.Omni doesn’t seem to do anything, except that the Omniclient module is added to the list. There is no desktop “Net” icon present. *desktop_omniclient adds the LanMan module to the list, but otherwise doesn’t help. *omnimount NAS fails silently. Can this be scripted? Or should I get a copy of LanMan98 and do it with that instead? |

Get LanMan98 anyway, as it’s free and an improvement over LanMan. Then here’s my copy of an Obey file to run and mount several NAS devices:
Clearly, substitute your own drive names, share names, passwords, etc. It’s hardly any different for LanMan. I’ve had IfNTask for so long that I can’t remember where it’s from, but I think you can see that it’s very useful! |

IfNTask is one of the commands within FilerHRun, which is still available from Musus Umbra’s website: http://www.zen22994.zen.co.uk/musus/miscfw.htm |

Thanks. I did try searching but didn’t find anything, so spent some time knocking up a primitive version. If was going well up to the point where I tried to use OSCLI to run the command. Pasting the command into a task window worked. Using OSCLI produced an abort in the Window Manager. I’ll use the link instead. |
