Strip html

Is there an App that will strip html tags leaving just the text?

Paul SPRANGERS has a program for processing text which is very versatile and can be programmed to perform this task as well as many others!

The program is ConvText available from here and a simple script to do what you want follows:

{REMOVE MANY SPACES}
{REMOVE MANY NEW LINES}
{REMOVE MANY SPACES}        |This turns multiple spaces into one space
{REMOVE SMART QUOTES}       |This changes sexed quotes to straight quotes
{REMOVE MANY NEW LINES}     |This turns multiple line feeds into two of them
{REMOVE MANY TABS}          |This turns multiple tabs into one tab

I haven’t used this one for some years, so check it does what you want!

The key line is line 5 which removes anything in angle brackets by replacing it by nothing!

Load into NetSurf and Menu>Page>Export>Text, or just Ctrl-F3. ;-)
