UUDecode

When I double-click on the !UUDecode icon nothing happens on my Pandaboard or ARMX6, not even an iconbar icon. I remember on a previous RISC OS computer (Iyonix or RiscPC?) a window appeared for one to drag the base64 file to for decoding. According to Packman I have the up-to-date version of !UUDecode. |

UUDecode on Packman is simply an alias to a command line tool. There is no iconbar icon. *uuencode -h Usage: RAM::RamDisc0.$.UUEncode_4/2/1-0.Apps.File.!UUEncode.uuencode [INFILE] REMOTEFILE -h, --help display this help and exit -m, --base64 use base64 encoding as of RFC1521 -v, --version output version information and exit *uudecode -h Usage: RAM::RamDisc0.$.UUDecode_4/2/1-0.Apps.File.!UUDecode.uudecode [FILE]... Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory to short options too. -h, --help display this help and exit -v, --version output version information and exit -o, --output-file=FILE direct output to FILE * With the same name iconbar apps can be found here in b144.zip Whether any of it still works is another matter. |

Just make your life easier and use SparkFS to uuencode and uudecode. And Base64/MIME en- and decoding of course. |

Also, I’d name drop John Allen’s “Attacher”. I used this just the other day to help someone with Thunderbird who couldn’t open an attachment that had been managled by a server during transit. It’s a very good program, and scans files for UU or Base64 data, without being too picky on formatting etc. |

To quote from my own post:
This was Attacher which I have now installed on my ARMX6 and Pandaboard. It works. Thanks for people`s interest. |

I frequently use John’s excellent ‘Attacher’ and have just got round to emailing John a feature request: Any other requests/problems? |

johnallen.com isn’t responding, unless I have a dodgy connection…does anyone know of another source or send me a copy of Attacher? thanks |
