Looking for Top Model, installable

Hello everybody.
I am looking for a copy of Top Model that can be installed.
I own several original, used copies, unfortunately because of the anti-copy system,
I can’t install any on a machine.
If a crack exists, this would solve the issue, but is there one ?

There were some developments around Top Model. Perhaps Andrew has some info.
Even an aemulor only version would be good.

I have TopModel 1+2 but I never get it work stable. Not on my RiscPC, not on RPCEmu, not with aemulor. Installation was not a problem. Will take a look if I back home next week.

I have been in contact with Paola a long tine ago to get TopModel back in working order. Paola has given me a version that has no gardian protection (or whatever it was called). There are a few things can conferm. I have TopModel working well on my RiscPC, A9 with the help of Eamulor and on my MacBook Pro on Virtual RiscPC. Will be trying ARMx6 soon. A wile ago I was able to design a clamp for my CNC milling machine an had this part printed 3D in Carbon/Plastic. So conversion from a drawing to actual model is possible.

I have lost contact with Paola, but am still in mind to get this going again.

After Euclid I moved on to TopModel and did some very complex designs, but haven’t been able to run it since the Risc PC days, so would love to get it working again.

It’s great to hear that Top Model is getting some love again. I shall keep a close eye on your website for Top Model development news.

Hi David, What problem are you having?

We have probably all the same problem: my computer used for my copy of Top Model is dead since a long time. I would love to pay for a “protection free” license, even if it works only on aemulor or emulator for now.

A 32bit version would be great too :)

Hi Xavier, I can get you that copy of TopModel. It works on My A9 with Aemulor and has no Gardian protection.

Hi Steve, i have original media and would love to get TopModel working on one of my raspberry pi based machines or even on a (rebuilt) RISCPC or A7000 class machines, especially if it could be made to work on RO5 or RPCEmu. Is it possible to get a copy here too please ?

You want someone to upload a copy of a commercial (although no longer supported) item of software so that everyone can download a free copy?

Steve (not steve p in this instance) – I have no idea how busy you are and if you have the time but if you and/or Andrew @ RComp could manage to get in touch with Paola again it seems there is a bit of demand to get this software working without the old protection mechanism and he may be persuaded to release it and/or release it in a ‘commercial’ nature (perhaps a token amount commercially via !Store or similar – say 10-20UKP for an ‘upgrade’ or similar, even if it needs aemulor). What do you think?

Do you have permission from the original author or publisher to make this available ? if not it’s piracy and any one downloading it is stealing commercial software. Just because its not being developed/supported anymore does not give you the right to pirate the software. Its still in copyright.

That’s always a good idea, but I wonder what objection she might have. After all, not only maintenance stopped a long time ago, the same is true for the selling. So it can hardly be called a commercial product any more, especially since the sold version wasn’t yet very stable, if I remember correctly.

Paola, the original auhtor, gave me permission again to distribute TopModel-2 freely!

In between the quotes, and with permission from Paola I post a part of the email from Paola too my self.

(With converter she means a TopModel to STL converter. That was one of my questions)

I suggest, always start the subject with “TopModel” and then your true subject. That way mails concerning TopModel are always recognisable between other mails.

The version on www.markerdesign.be seems to an April 2000 and not StrongARM RO3.70 or 6.20 compatible. Is there a way to make it run on StongARM?
