BASIC can use the mouse in single-tasking mode, including reading the mouse position and button states. See pages 69-71 and 338-339 of the BBC BASIC Reference manual (available for download here). For example, MOUSE ON turns the mouse pointer on, and MOUSE OFF turns it off again. |

I’m I correct in saying that pointer doesn’t move with the mouse – ie it’s an orphaned pointer? |

No, everything is fine with the pointer, it moves with the mouse. It’s just that I haven’t come across this before. |
