Maestro madness

While we’re talking about sound and MIDI and such, I made a start on notating “Dear You” (also known as “You”?) [from Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (animé)] in Maestro. It’s an quirky program, isn’t it? No reason, other than I think it is a really nice piece of music. The start is here: http://www.heyrick.co.uk/random/You_Higurashi,af1 Does anybody still use Maestro? If anybody wants to listen to what “(Dear) You” is supposed to sound like, my favourite version is the full orchestral “Dear You – Hope” [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTnHpEDYiOI ] however if you look around YouTube, you’ll find so many remixes and versions it is bordering on silly (music box, 80s 8-bit, trance, uptempo synth, and that isn’t including the dozens of character songs (40 minutes worth here)). One day, my pathetic attempts at playing this will be added to the pile. ;-) One final thing: don’t look up the translation of the lyrics of “Dear You – Hope”. Crying is not optional; pretty much guaranteed if you are familiar with the story of Higurashi. [extra: “You Were The Wind Of Summer” is a slightly different version of the Dear You songs – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7-rPaVW7yQ ] |
