VNCserver and Delete

There’s a strange bug in the VNCserver on RISC OS, either the built-in one on a 4té, or !VNCsvr on an ARMiniX: |

Are you typing in to a writeable icon, or an application, if so which one? And what version of the OS and VNC server? I’m not seeing that to either of my RO 5.28 machines running VNCServer 0.21 (02-May-2020) from Remmina on Linux, or TightVNC on Windows. |

Apologise, I should have done some more investigation before posting the above. It appears than so far only !OvationPro and !DeskEdit show the described behaviour. But then it’s true for both VNCsvr versions 1.08 and 1.22 on RISC OS 5.23 and 5.29. |

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but where did you get versions 1.08 or 1.22 of VNCsvr from? I have what is supposedly the latest version 0.22 from Jeffery Lee’s site dated 5/4/2021. |

The 1.08 version is from 12-April-2009, while the 1.22 version is part of the 4té furniture. Are we talking the same thing? EDIT: Only now I see that I was referring to the front-ends. The modules are 0.20 and 0.22 respectively. |

There are several newer versions of the front end software available from here. Occasionally they’ll complain about possible incompatibilities with RISC OS 5, but then carry on working perfectly. It’s worth bearing in mind they don’t work with the very newest versions of the vncserver module, due to changes Jeffrey made. |
