Python certainly can access the GPIO module, I’ve replicated most of the standard rpi.gpio library, so I can use quite a bit of ‘off the shelf’ code for GPIO access without changing it for RISC OS.

It is not critical but it seems that RISC OS was dumped by python not all that long ago. Or am I incorrect in writing that?

Python 3.8 is in PackMan and seems to be a supported version, even though it’s not quite the latest.
