ebuyer blocked my IP address!

Entering web address www.ebuyer.com in Iris browser produced the following web page. ebuyer OOPS! IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S US It looks like your IP address a.b.c.d has been blocked by error code 0.yyyyyyyy.yyyyyyxxxx.xxxxxxx If you feel like this is a mistake, please contact End of message. I have not given the specific hexadecimal digits in the above. I have never seen such a response before. A second attempt gave the same response but with different digits in the x positions. Netsurf didn’t show any errors and produced the ebuyer page, but on a second attempt it gave the same error. Weird or what? |

Just checked with Firefox on Linux and don’t get the error, so it doesn’t seem to be anything to do with the IP address being blocked. Could it be a pop-up problem that Iris and Netsurf can’t handle as there is a pop-up with Firefox? |

The same error appears here on a Titanium, RISC OS 5.29 (07 Nov 2021), with Iris 1.010 (4-April-2021) and NetSurf 3.11 (Dev CI #5314). |

Same here with NetSurf 3.10 and Iris 1.016 on OS 5.28. Works fine on my Mac. It certainly doesn’t appear to actually be IP address related! Although while looking at this, I’ve found that the user agent produced by Iris is a fabrication (it claims to be Windows 10, for starters). It’s a bit of an annoying problem: While you can’t reasonably expect official support for such esoteric browsers, you also don’t expect to be actively blocked from using them. I wonder what their support line would say. |

“It works in Edge, Chrome, Firefox… you aren’t using IE are you? Sorry? what OS? ‘RiskOS’? " or variants of that phrase. |

As far as I can see with NetSurf it will work once if Cookies are deleted. Quit NetSurf, delete cookies and the site will start but a reload will fail. This ruse however does nothing for Iris. No problem with Safari or Firefox on the Mac or iPad or Chromium on a Pi. |

It produces an incomplete page on NetSurf 3.10. It’s probably just some broken fall back code which is trigged due to lack of suitable javascript. |

Changing to a different ‘User agent’ in ‘Choices’ fixes it in Iris 1.016. |
