Access+ advice

Hi, I have been playing around with Access+, on a FOURtress Pi and ARMX6, and have a few questions. So on my ARMX6 I set up a protected shared directory called Updates in Access+, version 1.05 11 Aug 2018. On the FOURtress I go to the ShareFS discs icon and then via it’s menu I go to Access+ and fill in its name field, Updates, and then the password I entered when setting it up on the ARMX6. After a short while a resource window, Resources.$.Logon.updates, pops up with the name of the drive, ARMX6b. Clicking on that drive places a ShareFS drive on the iconbar , updates@ARMX6b, and clicking on that icon brings up the contents of the Updates directory which I can read and write too. Now rebooting and starting Omniclient, with Omni$Share set to start, clears the iconbar of any ShareFS drive and clicking on its menu and then selecting Access+ bring up a dialogue box with Domain/User/Password to fill in but only the Domain and password allow entry of details. Entering the host name of the ARMX6 and no password does allow a couple of files to be seen which are in the Boot sequence Is the Omni version of the module something different to that available via the ShareFS module/icon and Access+ application? Via Omniclient does it expect to login to a Access fileserver? The user guide, page 154 onwards, also says that when setting up a share via the Access+ application that the password is 6 characters long but I have put in a longer one that that and it works. I did test it by trying to assume it was only six but it failed to validate. So is the User guide incorrect? Whilst investigating this I did find that DeleGate does seem to stop you altering a files access details and I have posted this to the appropriate mailing list. I am hoping that someone will correct my understanding of Access+ as I am sure I have missed something obvious in how it operates. |
