Modern filetype sprites - what are they called?

The Filer and Paint show sprite files with a nice new sprite, but when I create a Save box with a sprite file_ff9, I’m back to the 1980s. What should I invoke as a sprite, and where should I have looked the information up? I must have been searching for the wrong terms. |

You’ll need to give us some context and clues… How are you creating and viewing the Save Box, in order to determine that it doesn’t work? The icon should be “file_ff9” in the Wimp Sprite Pool, and a quick check here says that the default is in keeping with the current theme. If you’re doing this in a template editor, check that it’s not overriding the window’s sprite icon settings to point them at a different file containing older sprites; also check what you’re doing for the sprite area pointers in your own application. The Sprite Area pointer for the icon should be 1, to indicate “Wimp Pool”, and it wouldn’t hurt for the window’s Sprite Area pointer to be 1, too, unless you have other sprite icons in the Save As dialogue from your own sprite area. |

Thanks, Steve. The sprite wasn’t indirected. I’ve changed it to be so, and the modern sprite has appeared. I use FormEd (a version that I slightly modified for myself many years ago, to add better resizing facilities) but I had no idea of the difference you’ve pointed out. |
