Wi-Fi not automatically connecting

I have the Elesar HAT and I’m posting here before pestering Sprow :) I’ve replaced my router, and now I’m having Wi-Fi issues (everything was fine before changing). I’ve chosen my new network and have ticked the “reconnect automatically” box. When I reboot, I get the normal startup messages including “attempting to rejoin familiar network”… but then it just sits there until it times out. Once the desktop appears, I can’t access anything online. If I go to the Wi-Fi Manager and re-choose the network then it’ll connect, only to break again at the next reboot. I’ve flashed a new SD card with OS 5.28 and the latest Wi-Fi driver, and therefore everything’s via the ROOL stack, not the ROD stack, and there’s no third-party stuff to get in the way. Any ideas what’s going on here? Possible incompatibility with my new router (Synology RT6600ax)? Something else? |

Looking at the RT6600ax product page, it appears to be able to host several networks simultaneously. The match on attempting to rejoin is based on MAC address, so is it configured to advertise several SSID’s (but with the same MAC) – that could confuse matters if attempting to join the wrong one. Try (temporarily) just having 1 network advertised and 0 hidden networks to see if that might be what’s happening. Does it record connection attempts in the router log? Otherwise some more in depth troubleshooting might be required, get in touch with Elesar support. |

There’s only one network, and it doesn’t seem to log connection attempts, only things like configuration changes. Don’t worry about it: I don’t have any support tokens and it’s about time I wired the machine up properly anyway. It no longer ‘needs’ to be wireless so I’ll just sort out a cable for it. |
