Hi, how do you configure POP3 and SMTP servers in !Messenger? I don’t |

Welcome to RISC OS. You will probably find the habit of clicking the middle (menu) mouse button over the application icon before running it and following the arrows to the Help buried in the application directory useful. |

I have not checked the NutPi Messenger Version. I use the actually. Normally you need the free !PopStar or the commercial Hermes to fetch the mails. Edit: Netfetch is inside the NutPi. Short: Configure your account in Netfetch and a User in Messenger with the same name and set Netfetch a the default transport. |

Hi, as has already been pointed out you’ll need a transport first. |

Since the OP has NutPi, he already has NetFetch. This contains Hermes for fetching email, and NewsHound for fetching news. Both will be configured via NetFetch’s iconbar icon (IIRC). For someone new to the platform, I’d stick with those and ignore POPstar.
You haven’t done for years: MessengerPro (in 1999 or 2000, ish) replaced Newsbase with its own internal message database (MsgServe). This still needs NewsDir to actually provide a place to store the message files, but is configured from within MessengerPro itself (it appears to be part of M-Pro, in effect). |

Hello I am wondering which version of !Messenger comes with Nut Pi? In the readme file, they talk about !Messenger Pro, but the actual version does not seem to support iMap, so I guess this is the ‘lite’ version allowing POP only. Or, maybe I do something wrong :) Thanks for your help |

That is correct. The idea was to provide a cheap intoduction to the range of RISC OS software. An upgrade is available from R-Comp. I beleieve the details are in the NutPi documentation. |

Thank you very much for your answers and kind words of welcome. I tried !NetFetch then. Its readme file put a big smile on my face. It’s really worth reading! :)) |

I just tried POPstar. No avail. :( POPstar doesn’t seem to work on Raspberry Pi. |

Rabe: Did you install the version of popstar from Version 2.05 is the only version that may work (32bit) |
