USB Ethernet on original 4GB Pi 4

I have just taken delivery of a nice new UGREEN CR110 USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter. It seems to work very well (out-of-the-box) on a nice new 8GB Pi 4 when conected to any of the USB ports (including USB-2, USB-3 and USB-C). But I can not get any life out of it when connecting it to an original 4GB pi 4. I was not expecting it to work when connecting it to the USB-C port on the original Pi 4, because of the well documented power issue on the original Pi 4 USB-C port. But, should it work on one of the USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports? Both models of the Pi 4 are running RISC OS Pi (5.28). USBInfo reports the adapter as an ASIX AX8872A device. |
