I have a SCSI drive, HardDisc4, attached to my Rpi4 running RO 5.28. When I click the HardDisc4 icon on the iconbar I get “Error when reading SCSI::HardDisc4.$ – Broken directory”. DiscKnight (1.55 12-Aug-2018) reports “Disc is good”. |

What is the command CheckMap saying? A broken directoy is not necassarily a broken disc ;-) |

No, but broken $ is rather important, though I’m surprised DiscKnight hasn’t spotted it. Druck is around, he’s the one with the know-how.
The question nobody likes to be asked: When was your last backup? |

DiscKnight will spot and fix a broken directory – are you checking the correct drive? BTW: Please use the DiscKnight email address for support, I check it more regularly than forums or newsgroups. |

Everything seems to be working OK now. I guess I had not rebooted before testing the filer after the repair. |

Phew! Glad it was that simple. Now, backups….. |

You are a bit late, all the issues came up over 20 years ago on the DiscKnight mailing list. |

Yeah, on an old RISC PC hard disc which used to suffer from the summer heat, I used to find myself constantly forgetting to reboot after a Disknight repair; handy tool. :) |
