Thanks for the software guys. Cameron, I used HBP10GM with ScummVM, and it works nicely with the inbuilt MIDI500 module. However that module doesn’t seem to work with the other stuff I had to try: DOSBox and the Syndicate demo. Not sure if the RISC OS DOSBox port has MIDI support or not… |

I’m not aware of any version of DOSBox for RISC OS that has external MIDI support, so I think that’s to be expected. I tried the Syndicate demo on RISC OS 3.7 using the updated 32-bit HBP10GM and it does work, but not consistently. It seems to work better when first run, so rebooting might help. |

Thank you for the clarity, I had wrongly assumed that DOSBox may have had MIDI support, because MIDI was enabled in the default conf file. I’ll give the Syndicate demo another go with HBP10GM… Update: I also got the Syndicate demo MIDI to work using RISC OS Direct (5.27) in RPCEmu with HBP10GM, but I can’t get it to work on my Pi 1. Note: I am using !ADFFS to support the 26-bitness of the demo. I also noticed that with ScummVM, I only get MIDI if I run !HBP10GM after ScummVM has started, ScummVM will then crash the system upon closing. No crash if !HBP10GM is not started whilst ScummVM is already running. This happens both on my Pi and via RPCEmu (RISC OS Direct). |
