Hello Sorry for this basic question, but I am a complete newbies on RiscOS…. I have download a zip archive with NetSurf… but I have no idea where it is stored and how I can retreive it. I have read about a scap folder, but cannot find it. Thank you for your help. François |

When you download a file, NetSurf pops up a save window. You need to drag the file icon into the filer window of where you want the file saving. Andrew |

Hehe – welcome to RISC OS :-D That is the default way to save for all aplications. You’ll find lots of other “different” things to play with too: Three button mouse – the button adjust (the one on the right) does a different operation to select (the one on the left). Try closing a filer window of a folder with adjust and not select. Holding down shift whilst you double click on a file – try this one with a html file to see what happens. As you’ve probably noticed by now RISC OS makes very heavy use of drag and drop (this question you posed is a classic example of that). You can actually drag and drop files onto an application that is sitting on the iconbar too. Take that html file and see what happens if you drop it onto Netsurf’s icon and then see what happens if you drop it onto a text editor’s icon. Enjoy! Don’t worry about the weekend – after all that is what groovy operating systems were invented for ;-) |

It would probably help if that window looked more like a save dialog, or even contained a classic save dialog in it, which I’ve seen done somewhere. |
