Thank you, Fred. The sort of thing is TAB auto-complete (dir) and utilising the cursor keys to scroll and reuse previously typed commands.

History recall and filename completion should work with the default TaskWindow mode. You just have to make sure that the LineEditor module is loaded, StrongED does not load it for you.
