Building RISC OS from an sgit clone

I thought I’d try to build RISC OS from git just using RISC OS.
Make a cup of tea. Make lunch. Watch an episode or two on TV.
Reboot, just in case. Run the Builder (without the Filer first “seeing” C++ etc.), everything up to Join ROM. Swear a bit, then remove a line "RES_OBJ = " from Desktop.FilerAct.Makefile (https://riscosopen.org/tracker/tickets/514) because I’m too cheap to buy a newer version of the DDE. Run the Builder, everything up to Join ROM. Yay! One thing, though, running sgit diff doesn’t show the file I changed, but it does show dozens of things like this:
Any bright ideas? |

Never mind. I needed to go further down in the source tree. Go into, say, RiscOS.Sources.Kernel.s, and it works fine. |
