Spotted MartinW posting and assuming..
I use Taskwindows a lot and both Zap and StrongEd have issues.

I dont need a full editor program and would like to
try ShellC, it was intended for compiling etc and sounds ideal.
Would it be (easily) possible to have a 32bit version of the module?
I admit I haven’t tried the 26bit emulator to run it yet.

Edit: ShellC (30 years old) does not work well, looks like RISC OS throwback windows, but mostly it is
task issues that are alarming. (aemulor on Iyonix)
Edit looks quite good set up with inverted display and Corpus Medium.
You can go upwards and select some text to copy-paste to the prompt positively too, it sort of defaults that way.
It would be good to have a single mouse click for copy/paste like in linux, but cntrl c then v is not bad.
My RiscPCEmu cntrl F12 is not firing up a Taskwindow,
and Edit doesn’t have a menu item. possibly a script could start it.

I noticed the left-right editing is baffling in the native CLI, however running
the dash shell and the line editing is 100%.
A small shell wrapper would improve line editing in ordinary Edit Taskwindows.

In RISC OS 5 you can create a TaskWindow from the Task Manager menu on the far right of the icon bar.

Useful when VNCing in to native RISC OS too, as most Linux VNC viewers don’t pass F12.

I’ve been using Steve’s Launcher for a while now, and StrongEd and Zap had right click option.
I will need to make sprites for the dash app and also for script files, as they have to have a filetype and runtype.
When dash runs an external file or program it is via the Native CLI during a fork and execve()
Binaries already have filetypes and are not a problem.
They will be just black and white, but what sprite format is best/acceptable?

A 256 colour square pixel MODE 22 is most common these days.
