Is anyone else finding ChatCube offline at the moment? It loads, but its icon is greyed out. |

Not only the icon is greyed out, it sticks on loading the initial data. Having said that, ChatCube on my computer has been off-iconbar for a long, long time. |

Thanks, Paul; that helps to understand it may be an issue unrelated to my machine. |

Same here – sticking on loading initial data about a third of the way along the progress bar. |

Doesn’t log in for me either. Looks like their server may be down. |

I’m using v1.26, haven’t done ChatCube for year(s?). Fetched new avatars, and appears to have logged in. Everybody has a red dot by their name (not online, I presume). Choosing RISC OS Chat worked, but it hourglassed for ages. In ChatCube’s defence, I’m uploading to YouTube so that will be slowing things down. Posted a quick message. Disconnected, quit app, reloaded, reconnected, message is there, so…? |

Thought I’d pick up the chatcube zip. Can’t. Message on screen top right: “This domain has expired…”. However, according to whois, the chatcube.org domain’s registry entry doesn’t expire until 11-12-2023. Judging by the update date (16-12-2022) somebody cut it a bit too close… |

Perhaps the provider supplying that domain did renew the domain with the registry expecting the user to pay up to ensure if the user does pay with some delay the domain is not lost… or the flag on whois stating “autorenew” does work :-) |

That, presumably, will be the registration for the new place-holding domain which was put in place when the original registration expired. |

Isn’t chatcube on github as a source set for client/server? |

Yes, you offering to host an instance? ;-) ;-) |

I had another look, and ChatCube is up and running. Thank you, Stefan and everyone who had a look. For anyone who writes code, needs support or wishes to chat, there are currently three social areas there; coding, chat and support. |
