Omni to Mac OS X mountain lion

I swear I saw something about this some time back but damned if I can find it again; has anyone been able to make a Pi/RISC OS talk via Omni (although I’m open to alternative options) to an ML running Mac? I have no problem talking to my old Mac mini running snow leopard. Today I quickly tried out a purported Samba server package on the iMac and Omni certainly appeared to ‘see’ the new SMB drive but all I get is ‘cannott make tcp/ip connection’ errors. Raspbian on the same Pi talking to the same machines has no problem, so I suspect there is no issue with the actual network setup. |

As far as I can tell, Apple in their wisdom removed a Samba (smbd) derived client and wrote their own implementation for Mac OS Lion. If your iMac runs Lion you should probably give up. I’ve got some packet captures from my BBC Micro ethernet interface and they all look fine (I support NTLM secure logins unlike LanManFS in RISC OS 5) it just gives up. I’ve not had a chance to figure out why, since I don’t have a Mac. |
