Is there any way of avoiding this when ending a single tasking program?

Thanks but it didn’t work. It’s not so pressing a problem now. For some reason I thought I lost vnc while single tasking but apparently not. I was going to use a midi program change command to quit the program and restore vnc but would still need access to press space.

The Wimp does it when it thinks you’ve used VDU output, or something like that.

I suppose it’s reasonable now to add a configureable timeout option to the Window Manager for such instances of blocking. Add ‘Press Scroll Lock (or something) to retain on screen’
