Is there any experiance with industrial SD cards? Like Sandisk SDSDAF3-008G-XI or other brands. I need it for the Raspberry Pi 3b+. Micky |

Industrial SD cards as opposed to… hand made ones? Anyhow, Sandisk is generally considered as a top brand. The 256 GB card in my RPI4 is at least 4 years old and is written to and read from on a daily base. Samsung is equally reliable, although the one that came with my 4té2 died after one year, which should be considered as a very rare exception though. |

Industrial grade as opposed to domestic grade. For instance, for using a video surveillance recorder, you don’t just pop a regular SATA harddisc inside as it’ll be writing nonstop as long as it is active. Domestic devices are designed to handle bursts of writing. I use Verbatim here, seem pretty solid. SanDisk is frequently more expensive than everything else by a large margin. Avoid the cheap brands. |

Not sure if relevant, but the micro SDs used for RISC OS Direct physical distribution (which happens to be Pi 3b+ compatible) used a stock of industrial micro SD (I think it was Sandisk, but I could be wrong) from a large (non-RISC OS) commercial project that was abandoned at the last minute. They were looking to dispose of the SD cards bought for the project, so they made ideal cards for distributing RISC OS. Then Covid hit, and we ended up with a large stock of them on the shelves. They seem to work well, and I’ve not heard of anyone reporting problems, but they are only 8 (16?) GB in size. |
