Extremely slow network on RPi

Glad you’ve got it sorted. I’m interested to know the cause though – tell us about the cable. How long is it, is there any visible damage, does it have anything printed on the outside? It’s very odd for this to cause a delay without showing errors (though I suppose they could all be transmit errors not receive ones) |

The cable is old (about 10 years), several meters long, and it has a lot of knots of his own (apart from the giant knot of wires to which it belongs, I mean). There are no further visible damages, but it has always served an old Window98 computer that got extremely slow in the end… maybe because of a malfunctioning cable? On the outside is printed: cat.5 UTP 24AWG 4pa… and the rest vanishes under the plug. I’m still puzzled how I could change cables and yet connect the faulty one again – several times! |

New cables don’t always work either. I have a recent 1.8 metre usb 2 extension cable and it doesn’t like memory sticks or card readers. Mind you, different usb sockets on my Iyonix have different ‘personalities’ |

Dunno, but If it’s possible it will be done. So, how do you disconnect all devices to allow a new carpet to be fitted and then reconnect all devices, including connecting the mini-hub to both networks…1 1 RADIUS didn’t allow the non-authorised devices access. STP blocked the port preventing a network bridge. |
