Sending Emails from Several Accounts

I have several email accounts and, unless they are all from the one email address active in Hermes accounts send settings, on sending these emails I get the error message I can get round the problem by ensuring that the email address in Hermes send settings is the same as the from address of the email(s) to be sent. But this means changing the Hermes send settings each time I use a different account for sending. My son doesn’t have this problem using Apple mail. I would have thought that on logging in (via Messenger Pro V9) the Hermes send settings would be automaticcally changed to be consistent with the email account I have logged into, or have I just not set it up correctly for several email accounts? |

Two possible solutions… 1) Mpro 9.01 introduced the ability to set a Sender address independently of other headers for a user – IIRC it is in User Details / Management section of Choices. 2) You could create multiple SMTP logins in Hermes, with instructions to use the appropriate one for each email address. Hermes would then detect which email you’d sent from, and use the corresponding SMTP profile. |

I’ve not used such things in recent times, but I concocted a mess of BASIC that switched from one user send/receive directory to another and changed the user/password parameters sent to Popstar for each. |

Surely this is the one that’s required: you need to send the emails through the login for the address that’s being used. This is pretty standard now on anything but a “legacy” service.
To be fair, if someone else has already gone to the effort of doing this, it’s probably easier for the average end user to just use the functionality. Particularly if they’re already using the software in question… |
