There’s a Stewart Russell on Mastodon who’s having problems with his WiFi but can’t sign up for a new account because of the spam problem… He’s after wpa2 on a Linksys router. |

Do you mean he can’t sign up for a new account on these fora? Doesn’t the page that he sees, tell him how to get an account? |

Wasn’t there a block on post/signup from certain ISPs done a while back? |

I absolutely agree with that last line. So, I’d suggest sending a message to that address (probably not from one of the spammy addresses like GMail…) and being patient. It’s not an ideal situation, but things were getting out of hand, and did I mention that little line at the end? |

The thing I find really annoying is that the big providers could do something about it if they wanted to. If Facebook, Twitter, Azure, AWS, Instagram, Tiktok and Snapchat all got together and had a policy saying “any ISP that makes no attempt to stop spam from leaving its network will get blocked from our networks” then the ISPs would fall over themselves to solve the problem. |

@Rick He did, but I don’t know how long he waited. The good news is that WiFi “started working”!
