RPi & NOOB - Clicks funny

Hi, What happens is if I have a dialog window with an OK or Cancel button, if I click on them, nothing happens. The buttons change state to indicate that a click has been seen, but the window is not dismissed, and I expect that any settings are not saved. IF the window has a yellow title bar, I can press Escape or Return on the keyboard to trigger the buttons properly. However, a lot of windows (certainly if I’m setting up an internet connection) seem not to have yellow title bars. Also, the web browser Net Surfer seems to be pinging open new windows on every link I click – including on this site. Not sure why this is happening – it’s a behaviour I’ve not seen before this version. |

Wrong – they are saved, at least unless you’re using some really funny applications.
Er, you mean NetSurf, right?
Well, you should have done – at least if you had ever tried right-clicking on things instead of left-clicking on them. All of your symptoms suggest that, when you think you’re left-clicking on something, you’re actually right-clicking on it. What type of mouse are you using? How many buttons does it have? Are you sure you haven’t configured it to some sort of left-handed mode by mistake? |

The mouse is an Apple Mighty Mouse (the one with the funny track ball). It worked fine with a previous version of RISC OS I was using (using the trackball to click gave you a middle button click – and still does), so wasn’t expecting this kind of behaviour. I shall tinker some more. I don’t have any older mice with 3 button capability which aren’t genuine Acorn ones from the 1980s… |

The obvious question to ask here is: What happens if you click on stuff using the button you would normally right-click with, assuming the mouse has one? Some more tests you can try to confirm your mouse really is generating right-clicks: double-click on a file in a Filer window (if the Filer window closes, it was a right-click); click a scroll button on any window (if the scrollbar moves in the opposite direction to that you expected, it was a right-click); click the back button on any window (if the window moves to the front instead of the back, it was a right-click); click on NetSurf’s icon bar icon (if your hotlist opens instead of your home page, it was a right-click). |

Thanks for your reply.
bq.click a scroll button on any window (if the scrollbar moves in the opposite direction to that you expected, it was a right-click); bq.click the back button on any window (if the window moves to the front instead of the back, it was a right-click) bq.click on NetSurf’s icon bar icon (if your hotlist opens instead of your home page, it was a right-click) So I seem to be getting right clicks. Odd. I say odd because the previous install of RISC OS (which was a direct install from this site rather than NOOBS) saw my mouse behave properly. I’ll try a re-install and see if that makes a difference. [Time Passes….] So I’ll revert to the image from this site and see if that makes a difference. |

Did anything come of this? Is it different in the latest NOOBS release? It does sound a lot like somehow the left and right mouse buttons were being reversed. |

I have NOOBS 1.3.2 and use RISC OS 5.21 (7-Dec-13) which I use to replace th 5.19 version, and I have a newer (around 9 nov 2013) !Boot placed with my old “choices” and “loader” moved back in my new !Boot. Right and left mouse clicks are normal, NOT reversed. |
