ChangePSI

Hi I have been looking for ChangePSI on the internet without much luck. Today I found it on my RiscPC. It works as it should using Aemulor. Does the author read this? Can I put this online somewhere? My Psion netBook works just fine with 32bit PsiFS , including printing! ChangePSI is a nice addition since it can convert psion vord files to rtf. |

How far did everyone get reading that post, before they realised it wasn’t a typo? :) |

About halfway when Psion was mentioned and I was like “what she’s that have to do with ChangeFSI?”. |

I initially wondered if it might be about tyre pressures. Had the capitalisation been “Psi” I might have twigged earlier. It must be 20+ years since I was using the then-outdated Acorn PocketBook badged-derivatives with classes of children before they were scrapped. PS, I meant the Pocket Books – I don’t know what happened to the children! |

@Michael I did the PSIFS version 32b conversion, but the author of this program is Alexander Thoukidides. It was Thomas Milius who made the conversion programs. I did my tests a long time ago, I should get my PsionSerie3a out again. I just did the test with a file from Rick with a script: I believe that with the program there must be a choice in the menu for this conversion to be done directly. When I do tests with my Psion I will confirm. |

The wrd conversion only works with SIBO documents. Epoc needs ChangePSI or psiconv that also has disappeared from internet. |

I would have suggested archive.org… |

I don’t know whether its helpful in this case but my two PSION file converter tools SIBOConv and Psionconv are still available from my webpage: http://www.thomas-milius-stade.de:8080/indexE.htm Section Psion converters |

Thanks Thomas, The SIBOconv version integrates very well into PsiFS, it’s good if the non-SIBO version works. |

Thanks a lot! I searched for psiconv and not Psionconv, so google didn’t find it :) |

@Michael I took out my Serie3a, it works but PsiFS_32 (2017) no longer communicates…. I will try to recompile it. Thanks. |

Michael… you are making me want to dig out my Psions!!! I’ve got a few S5’s 5MX’s and some NetBooks. Havent’t used them in ages. Tried on RISC OS but could never get the serial port to work on my BBxM or Pi’s but my Titanium has a serial port.. forgot about that! |

They are very nice computers. I like EPOC a lot. I also have the last Symbian phone with keyboard. But Symbian wasn’t as good as EPOC. Personal opinion.. |

Thanks, Michael. It’s good to know that this works on other hardware. The ARMX6 also has its own serial port. |

Yes it does. |
