Problem with RO5.31 !Pointer does not work anymore

I just upgraded my PiTop with the Direct version 2024.
The App Pointer (big mouse pointer) does not work animore.
The Pointer stays allways the same.
What do i wrong?

On my NExT RO Direct with ROM 5.31 (21-Jul-2024), I have:

• !Pointer 0.08 (27-Nov-2020) by Bernard Veasey (Absolute)
• !Pointer+ 0.00 (11-Sep-2021) by unknown author (BASIC)

and they both work here as expected. Do you want to try the other one?

I used Pointer 0.08 and before Pointer 0.07.
Both didn’t work.
On the old Risc Os Direct (2023) version 0.07 was perfectly working.
I think it has something to do with different setings.
But i have no clue, where to search.

I really need help.

Btw: your version of pointer+ 0.00 seems to be newer as the version 0.08.
Where can i get pointer+ ?

Had to untick “Protect theme icons from being modified” in “Theme” in the Configuration menu.

I don’t think !Pointer+ has any relation to Bernard Veasey’s !Pointer, and I can’t remember where I got it from. It is a short BASIC program with no authorship or licence. You are welcome to a copy: just let me know where to send it.

I confirm that both programs work here on NExT and on Pi 400 both using the latest (21-Jul-2024) RO Direct ROM, so there must be some other issue with mouse/pointer support in your system.

You might also consider using Paul Vigay’s MiscSetup application which you add into Resources:Configure and which then provides a Big mouse pointer option via the system Configuration display.
