USB enclosure with IDE disc

Ok, is working. But why I can not download the ROM with Firefox (WIN, Linux). Both detect a broken file. In RISC OS with Netsurf… no Problems.

To sum things up, from personal experience I would advise anyone to think again in case they want to buy any of the following items for use with a Pi:

- LogiLink USB2.0 HDD Enclosure for 3.5" IDE HDD
- Seagate Expansion 500GB USB3.0/2.0
- Samsung S2 Portable 640GB

The LogiLink enclosure does work when connected to a Windows (XP) or Linux (Debian Testing) computer and so does the Samsung portable.
The Seagate doesn’t show up on my Linux box either. On the Pi it does become visible, but Fat32FS doesn’t want to know about it, so DOSFS tries to handle it. Which isn’t very useful for a 500GB drive.

In the end I did find an enclosure that works: an Ewent USB2.0 HD Enclosure for 3.5" SATA and IDE. However, it does seem to introduce some instability, causing the USB stack to crash whenever it feels like it (even picking up the Pi case will do that…).
