Freeciv Online playable in !Iris

I thought I’d give a go to playing Freeciv online in !Iris, I play !Freeciv on RiscOS occassionally and the performance at times can leave a little to be desired, and the version available is a little dated compared to the current release.

I was pleasantly suprised to find out that Freeciv does run on !Iris (I can’t confirm if sound works as my RiscOS machine isnt connected to any speakers) but the game runs better than the port, and uses less system resources from what I can see.

Unfortunately I didn’t find it playable on my Pi 4 – moving units was very slow – but it is definitely surprising that it works at all!

Slight tangent, but I can’t get the (very outdated) Freeciv SDL client working at the moment because the client disconnects from the server after a second or two. No idea why.
