When the version of RO in NOOBS is updated it would be good if the RPi foundation put out an announcement about it. |

1.3.3 does not contain a newer version. But Eben said they will make a new version available as soon as they have received the update. |

Since the Pi foundation quote a close down over the festive period starting before Steve Revilles post above the update probably won’t appear until sometime past the first full week in January. |

As far as I experience until now, the mouse trail issue does not have a relation with the ROM version nor the boot sequence; it seems more something that is set before RISC OS is booting, and is not ‘overruled’ anymore by the settings needed for RISC OS. The RISC OS roms that work OK on a single boot RISC OS card don’t remove the mouse trails when a multi boot NOOBS version is used, when I replace the ROM in ’loader from within RISC OS and restart in RISC OS. |

I can confirm that. On a new 1.3.3 NOOBS installation the mouse trails stopped after the firmware in !Boot.Loader was updated, OS5.19 (19-Mar-13) is looking good, though in the longer term there could be mis-matches between the newer firmware and the older RISC OS version. The firmware I used, BOOTCODE/BIN, FIXUP/DAT and START/ELF, were manual downloads date stamped 07 Oct 2013, which is later than RC11. (I do not have the RC11 versions immediately to hand to try.) |

Just a brief update, we’re still working on a new RISC OS release (also for NOOBS) but are being vexed by some Filecore issues. |

NOOBS1.3.4 is out and remains at OS5.19 (19-Mar013). OTOH it is not mouse trailing many more, START/ELF and FIXUP/DAT are both filestamped 09 Jan 2014, BOOTCODE/BIN is stamped 17 Jun 13. That’s good news, the OS might not be very up to date but now a NOOBS user is not immediately confronted with a negative, trails that looked like brokenness. |

That’s lucky – I assume that’s why nothing negative about mouse trails was mentioned in the article here. |

@Rien – and others…..it is not the PI RISCOS rom. The working versions are here just open !Boot.Loader and copy the 2 files from the zip. |
