If you’re testing things then finding out whether the problem was the underscore or the name length (or both) would be useful. Worth adding the result to the RISC OS FAQ page(s) too. |

If you’re testing things then finding out whether the problem was the underscore or the name length (or both) would be useful. Now that it is working, I can rename the queue name on the printer back to ‘BINARY_P1’ and switch it (and the Pandaboard) off and on again and it still works. So perhaps we’ll never know. |

Ricoh, Brother and HP printers all over the hospital and about all I see of them is cocked up network protocol settings which I use the web control to change. BTW. For anyone with networked printers:- the default settings have ALL protocols ON. Since AppleTalk and IPX are overly noisy and not used in 99.9% of setups they are best turned off, in fact mostly all you need is TCP IPv4 (I’d be surprised if any home user currently needed IPv6 turned on particularly on a printer). |
