Videodesk sw & manual

Hi I know this is a long shot does anyone have the Irlams videodesk software and manual – I could copy / borrow. I have the card and cables but no software. Many thanks Richard

It is sitting on my RPC, I also have the Irlam card but the software doesn’t work on my computer.
RO 4.39 and or strongarm issue I believe
(You remind me to look for 3.7 ROMS and a spare 710 processor :) )

I have a Irlam and the original Discs as Image (usable with ADFFS). Both works with 4.39.

It is the software for the Irlam 24i16 card , don’t know if the Irlam VideoDesk card is compatible with the 24i16 software.
Irlam 24i16 and the Irlam VideoDesk card are 2 different upgrade’s for the RPC

Sorry, I have not read correctly :-( One reason is that I used in past (My Risc PC is broken, I know what, but no time to repair.) have used for my 24i16 the Videodesk software. Whether the 24i16 software with the Videodesk works, I do not know.

You have used the VideoDesk app with the 24i16 and from what I see is that you have a RPC with 4.39.
Has it also the StrongArm card ?
If so then I think you have a newer VideoDesk version.
Mine is 1.06 – If yours has a different number is it possible you send me a copy.

My english is not better. I think it is bad.
I have seen VideoDesk (oh, I know) and Irlam (my confused brain means Irlam = 24i16)…
Sorry, I’m not sure ;-) I not used my RiscPC last two years. I know I have 4.39 but I have also a ARMSwitcher. I can switch StrongARM and ARM600/710 (I have both but not sure witch was inside).
I will look at my old HD in the evening. I mean it is also 1.06 but I’m not sure.

Thanks for the Videodesk archive – is it a CD image? As it doesn’t want to install? Do you know which os version it needs I have 4.39, 4.02 & 3.6×. I have 610, 710 & various SA 200-300MHz. My main riscpc machine is 4.02 + 200SA.

Unpack and burn !CDINST and VERSION to a new CD.
Then run !CDINST from CD.
Drag to directory on your HD and wait….
This will install a fresh copy of !VideoDesk v.1.06
Only thing I know it is NOT working on 4.39 and StrongArm.
(The installer works fine but the Application !VideoDesk quits with an ‘Abort on datatransfer at xxxxxx’ )

If you can’t burn CD’s I can make an .iso image of it (with CDfaker you can then mount the .iso and run from the ‘fake’ CD )
Or create the .iso by yourself with !CDVDburn.

Sorry, I forgot the Christmas party at my daughter’s school and today was storm damage repair and Christmas market.
My “cleaned” Videodesk is only 1.06 and from my NAS (backup). My old Risc PC harddrive does not work properly. I found a reference to V1.07 but the directory is not readable. I hope Disc Knight helps.
