Need help booting BBxM board into Risc OS

I have a couple of BBxM rev B boards that boot up fine into Risc OS. One runs RO5.19 and the other runs RO5.20. But I also have a rev C1 board that refuses to boot into Risc OS. This is the one I need help with. It boots up to Linux/Angstrom/Gnome OK, so it looks like the board itself is functional. But when I try it with RO5.20 (using the same card that works fine with the rev B boards), there’s a momentary flash of a couple of LEDs and then nothing. Are the rev C boards different enough to cause this kind of problem? And is there anything else I can try to pin the problem down and get this board running Risc OS. Suggestions gratefully received. |

You could try changing the uboot & mlo |

I have also a Rev.B and a Rev.C xM. The Rev.B boot-files are not working on Rev.C but the Rev.C boot-files are working with the Rev.B board … Use the Rev.C (Linux) MLO and uboot and RISC OS will work. I can also upload the files if this not help. |

Thanks Raik, that’s cured it. I thought I’d copied the uboot/mlo files across once from the angstrom card, but it seems the old ones didn’t get replaced for some reason. Also I read somewhere that the files need to be applied in a certain order, so adding them later may not have worked. Anyway, I started from scratch, built a new Risc OS card (having reformatted it to FAT32 on a PC just in case) and pointed SDCreate at the uboot and mlo files on the angstrom card. Now Risc OS boots up fine, so thanks for your help (goes for Rob too). |
