Filer windows opening at startup

Hello I do not know how I did it, but every time I boot up RiscOS, when the pinboard is loaded two filer windows open up… It is irritating, but I can’t find how to disable this… Help would be much appreciate. Regards François |

Search and delete or comment out (|) a entry in !Boot.Choices.Boot.Desktop or …Boot.Tasks.!Boot that begin with Filer_OpenDir… |

Thanks Raik :) I just find that creating a folder in !Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks causes the folder to open…! |

Yes, it will. All the contents of Boot.Tasks is ‘run’ in some way during the boot process, so things can be started and initialised at boot time. The action for a bare empty folder is to Filer_Run it … which will open it. You should probably not put anything in Tasks unless you know what you are doing, otherwise you can cause your boot process to fail! |

That is normal. The only logical action to “run” on a directory is to open it. If you really want a directory in Tasks, create an application directory (!blah) and inside that create an !Run file to do what needs to be done. |

Indeed, everything is logic with RiscOS… You just have to know it :) |
