Messenger Pro 7 SSL connection - howto?

Hello, Questions that arised: 1. Where to initially enter the username used to authenticate? From what i’ve found out using the debug logs of a quickly set up dovecot imap server on Linux, it’s in the Dialogue “Messenger Installation”, the “Login Name”. But here’s the problem: This input field only lets you insert alphanumeric input, no dots or @-signs. I am using Hotmail and used the following server settings (which work on a Linux box with Thunderbird): IMAP: imap-mail.outlook.com Also played around with the various SSL Settings (SSL on connect, always required, …) without any success. Any hints? Thanks, |

I use the Secure-module inside MPro (in !RemoteNB). It is not automatical loaded and so the setting options in Hermetic are grey out. Load the module (first try via doubleclick) and change your settings and it shouldt work (my provider accept this). |

I think you might be confusing the login name to the Messenger user account with the one for “Hermetic” (your actual mail transport). |

Hi, There were multiple issues: 1.) In the initial setup, the Username chosen is the same one which is used to log in to the server, but you can’t enter any special characters like @ or the dot. Google Mail’s login name is the same as your mail address so you need this characters. To get over it you have to set up using a non-ssl imap server which accepts your chosen user name/password. When this has been done and the login has been completed, Messenger let’s you modify the login name and server details. See (2). IMAP: SMTP: Bye, |
